This is the third year that we have been delivering courses, feedback of which has been extremely positive.  ScrapstoresUK is an official CIWM - Chartered Institute of Wastes Management Accredited Training Centre and we are now holding Courses for the Waste Smart Foundation and Advanced Levels.

The first of the new Waste Smart Foundation Level courses will be held at South Fens Business Centre on 25 June 2013. We recommend early booking to avoid disappointment.

The course fee is £150.00 per delegate, discounts for multiple bookings are available as are bespoke quotations for delivering the course at a venue of your choice.

The Foundation Level Course covers the following:

Waste as a resource Identifying different types of wastes and their legal definition, and exploring the idea that wastes can be a resource with a potential value

The environmental impact of waste Explores how unsustainable our reliance on virgin materials is, and considers what we do with our wastes and how this can impact on the environment

The cost of managing waste Outlines the hidden costs of managing wastes and the real cost of waste disposal

Understanding and applying the Waste Hierarchy This session will assist delegates on how they can use the Waste Hierarchy to identify different options for managing wastes within the workplace

Legislation and compliance Gives a fundamental understanding of the different legislation and legal duties that apply to anyone handing waste as part of their job
